Anton: Rostov Chef, Traveler

Anton, a chef, runs two kitchens in Rostov and will oversee a third opening in September. He said he had recently taken time off to work in France and Moscow to gain experience and inspiration.

He shared views on life and work that I have heard from many professionals in Russian cities and towns.

”I have a dream to be a super chef, a great professional, but I realize I can’t achieve it in Rostov. After Moscow, it is difficult to be here. I want to be somewhere modern, not seven years behind.”

However, he says ”in Rostov, there is true friendship. People really help each other, it’s like a family. I didn’t feel that in Moscow.”
